Hi i bought volkswagen transporter diesel/ turbo diesel 1.6 and 1.7 engines I need to change the piston rings the book shows you a pic of the piston rings but not how to get to them or where they are, i know nothing about these engines iv only ever worked on beetle engines son any help would be mush...

I bought a manual from just campers for our 97 t25 diesel so i could work o the engine but it dosen't tell you anything i need.
Iv been told its a golf engine should i buy a golf manual of the same year as the van?

yes i should have put it in the right place thanks, its to early.
the engine is a 1600 diesel im not just going to put the rings in with out finding what else i had to do.

Hi all Thanks to everyone who helped me with regards to manual for our van, Iv got to replace the piston rings have them on way but do i need to replace anything else when i come to do the job, The van is off the road in the dry so i have plenty of time to do the work althougth im hopping to have it...
