Re: ABS Problems

Maverick, I'm not much of a mechanic myself, but also have abs. The issue with mine was the disk that the sensor monitors gets corroded and causes an issue with the abs having a moment. It was a easy fix to clean it with a small blaster cab and painted it. Symptoms sound similar, my pump would wine ...

Re: In need of a new VC

Jason many thanks will order the fluid and seals, do you have a guide on how to do the recon? Think we need Jed to do a 'how to movie', all his others have been dead good been watching his how to remove the vc movie in preparation.

Re: In need of a new VC

Alas, Aidan was my first port of call, both him and brickwerks are both out of stock. It's looking like I will have to pay lots to classic parts or shop in Germany

In need of a new VC

Hi all
My VC is getting very aggressive after a good run, looking for a new or good recon VC, It seems the usual places I know have sold out. Can anyone point me in the right direction to get hold of a new one or if you've got one available for sale.
Cheers

Re: VonOettinger '91 Multivan Syncro 3.2 WBX6

Harry, your bang in the money with that!!!! These engine's tend to get overfeed with fuel by the ECU and love it while on the move, but coke up in traffic, giving the kangaroo attack. Modern ECU has made a big difference to the running and enables you to lean out the mixture. Also another place to c...

Re: VonOettinger '91 Multivan Syncro 3.2 WBX6

Re engine hunting, it seems standard they all do that. Replacing the lambda and idle stabilisation valve improved the warm up cycle for me but didn't cure it. I've gone the next step forward and replaced ECU for mega squirt and replaced the AFM with a TPS on mine has cured the hunting issue, been a ...

Re: ABS

Hi all I have ABS fitted on the Oettinger (front and rear disks) as factory standard and rear diff lock. There are sensors fitted on all 4 wheels for the ABS. Engaging diff lock does not de-activate ABS on my bus. Although I have not gone too extreme off-road with it, what I can say is, on a steep h...

Re: Spotted in Camper & Bus Mag

My investigations lead me to believe that the rear brakes disks are Merc, off an early 90's E Class. Got a pair of disks waiting to fit, although Simon did a good job of cleaning up the old ones on a lathe for me. Front Disks I'm going to drop off with the local Merc garage for identification, altho...

Electric Window problem

Hi all Got an electric window fault on my van – passenger window will not operate. It started with being very sluggish going up and down and sometimes requiring a little help with a push. Now it does nothing. Drivers window functions normally. I have a new switch that I’m trying in the morning; howe...

Re: Post Syncropendence 2010

All Thanks for a fabulous weekend on Syncropendence, we had a great time. A big thank you to all the organizers; to Clive and Glen for their off-road instruction; to Patrick and Aiden for the greenlining on Monday. I learnt so much as to what my van can do, and have developed a much greater apprecia...
