Re: Earth for EHU consumer unit

It doesn't matter where the earth connection is as long as it's good quality ie mechanically sound, resistant to corrosion and obviously a good electrical connection. The wire should be short and protected against damage.
If in any doubt at all, get a qualified electrician involved.

Re: AAZ hot starting problem

Put a 600 ohm resistor in series with the glow plug temperature sender. This should give about 4 seconds glow with a hot engine, and a bit longer glow at lower temps, depending of course on exactly which sender you have fitted. Trial and error....more ohms gets you longer glow.

Re: Fridge replacement

There are heater elements behind the fridge that do 240V and/or 12V as applicable to your model. They are cheap enough and easy to replace. Any caravan repair place should have them. If your fridge has not been used for a while, the refrigerant may have gone thick and won't circulate. If that is the...

Re: Which DMF clutch Kit?

I've just had to sort out a clutch judder on my (AEF engined) van. Yesterday in fact. It turned out to be a slightly loose right hand engine mount which was difficult to find but easy to fix. It drives like a different van today! Just saying this, because my history with clutch judders has most ofte...

Re: oil pump/vacuum pump problem

I had a look at this because it's an item I check every few years as I've always thought that oil pump drive is a poor bit of engineering. Mine's an AEF engine, but I'm assuming that all the 1.9diesel engines use the same oil pump and vacuum pump, and the Brickwerks website seems to confirm this . T...

Re: 1y identification

If it is anything like the 5-cyl, early ones used a trapezoidal tooth profile and later used a (quieter) half-round/sinusoidal tooth form. They are different lengths and you need the matching coolant pump/tensioner. The 1Y setup is very different... Water pump is run off the aux belt, not the cam b...

Re: 1y identification

For the ribbed belt, you could cut the old one and measure its length. The belt you need will be an X PK Y where X is the number of ribs and Y is it's length in mm. For the cam belt kit, you can look up the list of vehicles fitted with a 1Y engine, and order the kit for one of those. Any motor parts...

Is this the cam belt or auxiliaries belt (or both) that you want to change?

Re: T5 with 1.9PD needs ECU, possible project.

I had a PD engine with blown ECU to sort out a few years ago. I bought a good ECU off eBay, and an EPROM reader/writer. I read the old ECU EPROM, then wrote the contents into the replacement EPROM. This overcame the immobiliser problem and the vehicle has been OK ever since. The original problem had...

You will get a few drops of fuel at each injector pipe every two revs of the engine.

Re: Diesel CS engine won't start

The amount of fuel that comes out depends on how much you press the accelerator . Even then don't expect a flood of fuel. It's only a small engine!
