I think you got a broken valve that course that your need to replace pistons barrels rings, heads and valves repaired plus when your doing all this I'd replaced oil pump and oil cooler and you might as well change push rod tubes.

As Hutch says, it is a pretty easy conversion, especially if you don't try to do the dash as well.

now then chap!! shoehorning a 20VTurbo (1.8) in at the moment. I reckon 150bhp is the minimum required in a T3 these days! Hows the florida suiting you chap? ** sorry for thread hijack! ** Which is the easiest one to do gti or 20v as I'm thinking of replacing my 1.9DG which doesnt have enough power...
