Re: Stuck crank oil seal
Right.. got it out by getting a screwdriver between the band and the case and then bending the seal inward until there was something to get pliers on. Problem now is that the seal has left some crud and corrosion on the wall of the face where it seals. It feels slightly rough to touch. Can I clean t...

Stuck crank oil seal
I'm changing my crank pulley oil seal to fix a leak. I've successfully got the pulley off, but the seal itself is a right ball ache. I've tried pulling, digging and prying but I'm scared I'm going to damage something. The inner band of orange rubber and a spring have come out, but the outer metal ba...

Mysterious clonking noise
I've noticed a mysterious clonking/knocking noise that seems to only happen after I've been driving for quite a while and then go slowly due to traffic/campsite etc. Sat in the drivers seat, it's like it's coming from the wheel underneath me and sounds a bit like a nut loose in the hub cap that clon...

Re: Accelerator pump spring
Had a chat with G&L, they aren't able to supply the springs. They're not a part that's ever been available separately, apparently it was once possible to get a pump refurb kit with one, but not any more. He was very helpful though and happy to give advice. Luckily, Gasure Steve has has come up t...

Remove water from fuel tank
I had my tank off for several weeks, lying safe under the van while I sorted out some brake pipe issues. Now ive reassembled everything, its started stalling when pulling off from junctions. Im thinking one explanation might be that condensation could have gathered in the tank during the cold weathe...

wheel arch cavity plugs
There are a couple of holes in my wheel arches for applying cavity wax into the sills and pillars, which were originally filled with various plastic plugs and stoppers. Some of these are missing and others have become warped and no longer work, does anyone know a supply of new ones, or an alternativ...

Re: Paint Your Wagon - with a roller!
Thinning to about single cream consistency at the moment, possibly slightly thinner. Its not a disaster, just slow going, persistence is probably the main factor. I think I'm going to do some experimenting with loading and thinning before the next bit, as I'm also getting a lot of bubbles that must ...

Re: Paint Your Wagon - with a roller!
Has anyone had problems with opacity? I'm painting on Bambus yellow, matched by tools-paint.com and after two coats I can still very clearly see where i've vactaned underneath. Am I thinning too much?
