had a lot of this type of problems in my workshop, and 9 times out of 1o, it turns out to be an air leak on the intake system! check all rubber hoses to balance pipes, and to the vacuum advance on the dizzy, and especially the one that goes to the brake servo, which sometimes tees of the balance pip...
