Re: What a great weekend we just had.

Setthorns is a great place - still got the pics you took Jed as my laptop wallpaper! Not been this year due the van throwing a cam belt - not good but should have it back soon (sounds as if I should have gone down the TDi route) - then it'll be setthorns first up.

Re: Normandy and D Day beaches...

If you get the time go to Falaise - great municipal site at the foot of the castle (William the Conquerers old pad). Was the scene of a rather large battle in WW2. Also St Mare Eglise (sic) - 101st airborne museum. Point de hoc is a bit of a mad place - the shell holes etc make it look like a luner ...

Re: Gearing ect ect

Think Aidan will be your man for this one. My 5 speed (non syncro :( ) has an extended 5th gear - I get 65-70 on motorways in 5th and no where near the red line.

Re: Buzzer of doom / Any van mechanics on Isle of Wight?

If you get probs when driving through the forest there's a place at Sway (right next to the main line train station) called KFK they repair T3's. Phone number is 01590 683429. Hopefully you won't need them (prob a bit late now) but incase you do.

He he he. Sorry I can't help you. I'm just picturing a portable mechanic. A little fella that folds up and fits in your pocket. Anyone know a "mobile" mechanic in the Mahester area? Now that made me laugh! Bit like a swiss army knife!! Anyway free bump to the top for someone in need - goo...
