thanks for that.
so...the fan pushes through hottest air at one speed (dependent on engine speed) all the time regardless and the flaps either vent it all out when fully closed or let a portion of it through when open, all when fully open?
Not much point to my brilliant idea then!

AC heater flaps open = cooler running?
Hello all, I've tied my flaps open  , so get a constant stream of hot air in cab. Now summer's here, the idea is to disconnct the hose mid-chassis somewhere and direct the hot air out sideways - I'm thinking this will somehow help keep a lid on the engine temp. Am I barking up the wrong tree ...

Re: aaaaarrrgh........oh
too right Albert - I was whistling a chirpy tune while I mopped it all up.
I mention it just in case anyone else is putting off sorting their wobbly filler neck like I was...

Re: Arbomast bodger
I'd love to do my own welding. but work on the street so it's not really on.
I'll persevere with the bodge, try to squeeze some under the rubber/metal join as suggested, and do a follow-up next time it rains in case anyone else is interested in half-rsed leak prevention

Re: Arbomast bodger
but that wouldn't be bodging then, would it! Of course you are right, CovKid, but it's just not going to happen. After getting lots of cab welding done for the new MOT - most likely a result of the windscreen leak - right now I'm just looking to stick a thumb in the dyke then suck it 'n' see... matr...

Re: Arbomast bodger
thanks for the reply, Mark I can see why under the rubber would be best and look neatest, but could it work the way I've done it? I thought I'd read about someone doing it the bodge way, but can't find the post now... I'm using it in the same way I guess people use bathroom sealant, but hoping the a...

Arbomast bodger
Hello all, After reading about leak cures here, I bought a load of Arbomast and have used it straight on the exterior of the windscreen - ie along the exposed edge of the glass rubber join, and along the edge of the rubber metal join. I've set a bead of it, then pressed it down. It's stays squidgy l...

Must cab floor repairs be welded?
Can anyone help. I'm 'doing the rust' (1980 T25 2l air) and after a bit of wire brush work I can get glimpses of the road through my passenger side floor (or daylight if I'm laying down in the gutter). The damaged area is not within 30cm of the seatbelt mounting point, so is it ok to fix with ally m...
