Sometimes it stays in no matter what. I have no problem with starting and mechanically everything seems fine. Apart from ...

are the new ones 55/60watt?
Yeah, that's what I meant. Not sure on the wattage as I've thrown them away now. I'll upgrade the circuit at a later date with a tutorial I found here using relays and stuff.

Ahh, I will do this. I assume some signs of scorching would be needed?
Thanks

Lamp Upgrade Gone Wrong :-(
Okay, I think I've been a little silly in trying to upgrade my headlights from the standard to hi intensity blue tinted lamps. I bought them off of ebay, fitted them and subsequently one blew as I turned them on for the 1st time. I have never had them working. As the lamps were only a fiver I quickl...

Turned out it was the battery buy I tried everything like the alternator, tensions on the belts etc. Turned out to be all those things plus connections. I did make sure I had a heavy duty battery though. Hope thing are getting better with i...

Batteries have a life of 5 years, how old was your second hand one?
Unknown Kev, but my pocket agreed and it did the job.

It was the battery in the end, I picked up a good one for £30 from the local breakers yard.
Thanks all!
Thanks all!

Re: Which is it?
Presumably mounted in the engine bay on a Diesel? the battery is higher capacity than the ones quoted for a petrol T25...here is a good example: online with delivery included. http://www.eurocarparts.com/ecp/c/Volkswagen_Transporter_1.6_1988/p/car-parts/car-electrics-and-car-lighting/electrical/car...

I'll ask for one of those then. I didn't know if it was a specific type such as a heavy duty one...what with it being a diesel.

Which is it?
Hi all, After a baltic winter where the van was stood for a couple of months, I came to start it and there was nothing. I guessed that the battery was flat so I jump started it which worked, and I took it for a good run to charge it through the alternator. The day after the same problem. It's fine f...
