Re: New engine earth braid
Got the Halfords 45cm one, looks a little on the long side, but I put a kink in it so isn't dangling on anything. Has done the trick anyway.

Re: Accelerator pedal removal
No, the other rivet broke - and I fixed that and remembered I hadn't said it worked!

Re: Accelerator pedal removal
Did it with pop riveter and little washers for the record, the snapped ones could just be bashed out.

New engine earth braid
I've got a 2.1 DJ, and the engine earth braid from left of engine to near the coil has rotted right through. Is there a recommended source for replacements, or failing that does anyone know how long it is supposed to be for a stock one? I would measure the old one, but it is in more than one piece, ...

Re: Engine revving to high when hot
As I say, it has only happened twice (for about 10 minutes each time), when the weather was hot, so settled down.

Big oil leak from oil cooler
No question here, just a report of what happened this week, and how to fix it, which I thought people might find useful. I had (what was) a very slow oil leak from somewhere unidentified around the bottom of my DJ engine (so slow that oil didn't need topping up between changes). But on Sunday, drivi...

Options for a new roof?
Hi all, I have an expiring Autohomes Kamper roof, which is mostly held together with gaffa tape, damp polystyrene and good luck. I would ideally like a new high top - but it seems the recommended Timbertechnicians have stopped doing them? Does anyone know other options at present for a brand new roo...

Re: Accelerator pedal removal
Hi, one of the rivets holding my accelerator pedal in place seems to have snapped, so it is moving sideways a bit.
Should I drill out old one and replace with a screw or something? Any ideas?

Water pump replacement
Hi all, Haven't been on here for while (nothing's been going wrong!). But just thought I would say thanks for putting up all this stuff on the wiki and forums, it just sorted out my latest problem. A noise that sounded like rocks in a blender started coming from the engine (2.1 DJ), so I feared the ...

Re: No brakes
I think you press the pedal, then switch the engine on. The pedal should depress slightly as the servo goes into action. If not check the pipe for a vacuum at the servo end.
If this is the problem you should still be able to stop just as well by pressing hard though!

Re: T25 camper LPG problem
Sounds as if your LPG evaporator is not getting coolant pumped into it (which keeps it warm and stops this). Check your coolant pipes for kinks - does your cab heater get nice and warm running on petrol?
