Hi Paul, you might try here: http://www.ratwell.com/technical/Thermostats.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; or look at the details on type2.com.
Doesn't go into swaps, but the rest of the info is good.

Re: Injection to twin carb 2ltr ac HELP
Hi Again, forgot to mention the fuel pump is also powered up when cranking the engine. When you release the key, power to the pump is supplied via a microswitch in the air flow meter, which only opens when there is air flow moving the internal vane. You can check it by removing the air filter and mo...

Re: Injection to twin carb 2ltr ac HELP
Hi Sages, I too have an injected 2l, there is not much that can go wrong with them that can't be traced to either a bad earth or an air leak. rather than mess about converting to carbs, why not spend a few minutes (hours) sorting the basics of the injection? If you google L-Jetronic, it will come up...

Re: Slight judder when cruising. And she stalls when I stop
Hi, I have had a similar problem with my '83 2l air-cooled, turned out to be an air leak at the manifold. This after I had chased the leak by every means I know; 'Molly' has L-Jetronic injection and a myriad of vacuum hoses, now all replaced. But the principal is the same: if it's a large air leak, ...

Re: Pubs with camping off A30ish - Betty Cottles?
Hi TC,
We have a 'campsite' with no facilities except water ie a field, a bit further down in Wadebridge which you are more than welcome to use free of cost, with a pub 100yds away. If interested please PM. As long as you can stand 11year olds and inquisitive spaniels!!

Re: removing interiors of Westfalia to access wiring
Hi, We have a LHD westy with the same interior. I recently had all of the cupboards out to treat the side panel. Nothing too difficult, just time consuming! There is not much in the way of wiring and what there is (on our van at least) can be accessed by taking the 'fridge out. Its worth asking a fr...

Re: How do I remove my Westy's roof rack?
Hi, the top is held on by four screws around the edge which are probably the ones you've mentioned, and three (or four) 10mm nuts at the rear of the roof rack. Mine has screwdirver slots in the large screws, I still managed to shear one off though! Perhaps a little tickling with an angle grinder is ...

Re: Vanagon 2.0 fuel injected hot starting problems.
Thanks for the replies, it seems the Bently manual is the way to go. Its not the EGR as it turns out, I spent ages tring to identify it from the vague Haynes pictures only to discover it had been removed and plugged! Ah well back to the drawing board!
Ian.

Re: Vanagon 2.0 fuel injected hot starting problems.
Hi Fritz, Thanks for the info, the Vanagon Haynes manual isn't very helpful! I think it may be something to do with the EGR which has similar symptoms. Driving in the Bristol rush-hour is proving quite exciting in a 'it's a 26 year old! cut me some slack' kinda way, when I stop someone getting home ...

Vanagon 2.0 fuel injected hot starting problems.
Hi Ghys/Gals, recently bought a 1982 american import vanagon (Petrol, not Californian). She's in good nick, but has a slightly annoying problem: After a hundred or so miles of perfect running, she will not tick-over without dying and once she has, she wont start without a 20 minute rest. I've checke...
