Re: Westfalia curtain track help
It’s just screwed on. Look up inside the track and you’ll see the screws.

Re: Vinyl or Fabric Seat Covers?
Thanks all - some useful thoughts there. The upholsterer has also suggested a mix of vinyl and fabric. We were thinking of going for 2 different colours of vinyl anyway, so that might be an acceptable compromise. Will give it some mor some more thought and maybe try to find some vinyl seats to sit o...

True - I have the same memories! I was hoping vinyl might have improved since then, but I guess it’s fundamentally the same product. Thanks for the input.

Vinyl or Fabric Seat Covers?
Hi all. Our seat covers have pretty much had it with the beading breaking apart and the fabric splitting in a number of places. We are planning to get them re-upholstered. Any thoughts out there on vinyl vs fabric? Would vinyl be too uncomfortable (sweaty) on long journeys? I prefer the look of the ...

Tailgate Leak - How's it Getting In?
Morning all, Every time I open my tailgate, I get a gush of water out of the lower holes in the door. Last year I tried to tackle this and found that the rear window seal had failed and the window aperture had rusted in one corner allowing water ingress. I had the door welded and so I know that it i...

Re: rear side window leak
MM is right - it is an easy job. Have a look at the video on this blog entry from Campervan Culture - it shows you exactly how to do it (http://campervanculture.com/2011/05/fit ... indscreen/). I replaced the tailgate window last week and it was indeed a 5 minute job.

Re: Repairing a Westfalia Double Glazed Unit?
what have folks used in the past to repair these
I don't know what others have used, but I am going to see these guys (http://www.mcmordiebros.co.uk) next week to ask their advice and see if they can cut a piece to fit.

Re: Repairing a Westfalia Double Glazed Unit?
Just in case anybody is interested, I have now split the 2 skins and it is immediately apparent that the inner skin has already been replaced in the past! So, I guess the short answer to my original question is, yes, the inner skin can be replaced. However, it would seem that the lifespan is limited...

Re: Repairing a Westfalia Double Glazed Unit?
Thanks mm. I wondered that too. Interestingly whilst the side windows seem to have the plugged holes, the rear one doesn't have any holes in it. Maybe that's why it has become so bowed?!

Re: Repairing a Westfalia Double Glazed Unit?
Cheers, that's really helpful. Are the units supposed to have a vacuum or insulating gas in between the skins, or is it just air?

Re: Westy roof box.
Definitely not wasted! Don't know what we'd do without it. We use a waterproof grey bag that I bought from eBay and is designed to fit the space. Awning, chairs, body boards, Cadac, buckets and spades etc all go up there. Brilliant stowage space.

Re: Leaking Westfalia rear window?
I've just had exactly the same. When I cut out the old window seal to replace it, I found that the corner of the window aperture had rusted out thanks to all the water collecting there. Hopefully you'll have caught yours a bit sooner, but be prepared to get a repair done! I got my window rubber from...
