Camper is ready to go!

So after spending a fortune this week mechanically on Percy, we've been busy... We've spent this weekend cleaning out all the crap we've acquired in the van (even done the clutter gutter), scrubbing the mould off the pop top ceiling, repolishing the mad matz, and finally we are ready to go! We are s...

Re: Dartmoor

We spent 2 nights camping in Dartmoor this summer, one at the bottom of Hayto rocks, the next carpark after the visitors centre, and one on the viewpoint overlooking Tavistock. Both were lovely, Haytor was deserted, the viewpoint was a little busier, and we were rudely awoken by ponies chewing the i...

Re: Portable toilet and box cover?

Our sits on a not slip mat behind the passenger seat, secured with a strap attached to the seat box. Made a cover for it by sewing a long skirt onto a square cushion, works well and is much more pleasing to the eye!! :ok :ok Same here, but ours isn't secure, that might be an idea on second thoughts...

Re: Crackington Haven Wedding ....Campsite?

Since then we've booked to stay there in the Summer. VERY Cornish lady on the phone, sounded lovely. Let us know what it's like!

Re: westy cooking

We've got an aluminium cook set that slots in together, comes with 2 pans, a lid/saucepan and a handle; bot forgetting the 1 cup kettle! I'm pretty sure it would fit in the bowl, but I can't check as Percy is off on a rather pricey holiday at the garage think you can get then in Wilkinsons or Millet...

Re: Crackington Haven Wedding ....Campsite?

I think there's a campsite near there, try searching on ukcampsite.co.uk it's a great site, I've been using it to book our sites in the Summer and the name rings a bell.

Re: westy cooking

Have you found the hidden drainer? NO! Give us a clue! See in the picture the underneath of the cooker lid is stainless? That bit folds down over the burners to make a drainer! It even has a handy hole for the water to drain into the sink. Ours came with a piece of foam to stop rattling-sta...

Re: westy cooking

:) I love everything about our Percy :) especially the storage and the swivel seats, the funny 'ice cream seller' slide window and the little mirror in the wardrobe :) which I'll admit is a little difficult to see in.. :)

Re: Carburettor and Idle Stabilising Unit

Thank you for your reply. He got one of those units and seems to run better now. He's also changed all the ignition bits.
As for the choke, he hasn't had time to look at it yet. It's closing ok but one of them is not opening up fully.
Getting there!

Carburettor and Idle Stabilising Unit

Boyfriend was doing some work on the camper at the weekend and he noticed that the idle stabilising unit was missing. Does he need to replace this? He has searched on the internet and some say you don't need it and some say you do. If he does need it, where would he get one from? Also whilst he was ...

Re: curtains

Ikea is good for cheap material, I got some of the linen type so the pattern is both sides :) they are quite thin, but we use screens with them anyway. They are more for decoration than keeping the light out! I used the old curtains as a pattern, I'm really pleased with the result, but I'm now tryin...

Re: how to keep pop top warm

Hey Joanna, Hope you had as lovely a weekend as we did! Pucerscreens is the name of the silver screens seller on ebay, but he's not got any listed at the moment. I see you have an email for him already though. We got ours from Brickwerks, but they only do ones for Westfalia ones. Good to meet you th...
