Best to start at the exhaust and work back, check all the sheilds, they expand under heat and can start making noise. Oil Pressure Wire...?
Havng started to put the engine back together, I have become some what puzzled at to what wire connects to the oil pressure switch, does it run from the coil?
If anyone can help with a wiring diagram from coil to carbs, oil switch etc this would be very useful

I need a new Accelerator Cable for a RHD 1980 2lt Aircooled, been looking about but cant find the correct spec....

Got my new head today (for the bus, not me) and 4 new pistons and barrels..... I decided to go all new in the end. On way way home from TES in Kent, it came to me that I may as well get another head to match the other side, not got it yet, but, what do you think? I suppose it saves me a job of lappi...

CU Piston
Recently stripped engine for rebuild and need a piston, but only one to marry up with an old barrel, engine has only done 74k so barrel looks very good for 30 years. All other pistons appear burnt, nothing unusal here.. ..do you anywhere that will sell one piston? And is it ok to match an old barrel...

Engine came out Friday night and was stripped to the Crank case yesterday. It turns out that a piece of a valve guide has broken and subsequently ended up on top of the piston. Damage to piston and nearside head, nasty looking........ :( So a new head and a new piston and things should be good again...

Update on engine
No smoke, so no oil getting through the pistons. I started it just now after a top up of oil and it dosent seem as bad as when it first happened, I am wondering if I should give the old boy a run around the block and see what happens?? :| Local of cource dont what the thing to be stranded !! OK, Rocker covers came off today, checked all rockers on 4 cylinders, couple of rockers move, latteral rather than rocking, they are sat in what in the correct position.
