Manifold heater switch
Hi, does anyone know where I can get hold of a new ( or guaranteed working used) manifold heater switch? It's the one on the left of the thermostat which turns on/off the choke and manifold heater ( not the coolant temperature sensor). It's for my 1988 1.9 dg petrol engine with pierberg 2e3 carb. Th...

Re: Vacuum pipe from air box
Thanks Ian, sorry to sound stupid but what exactly is the warm air unit? I can only see the plastic warm air pipe in that corner but no obvious connection to attach the pipe to? Thanks!

Vacuum pipe from air box
Hi can someone tell me where one of the thin pipes from the air box of a 1.9 dg engine goes? One of them goes to the vacuum unit however the other has come off and I can't see where it connects to in the rear corner of the engine bay? It's the thin black pipe in the far right hand corner of the phot...

Hi, I am trying to get hold of a couple spray cans to redo some very minor repairs but am having trouble with local suppliers and even the local vw dealership being able to find my paint codes! It is two tone with light greyish brown on top and dark brown on the lower half. The dealers booklet state...

Re: Vdo gauges
I was looking at this too but just for coolant temp. there is this fitting kit from Just Kampers - http://www.justkampers.com/shop/x11323003011-vdo-water-temperature-fitting-kit-for-all-t25-t4-and-t5-j13064.html but it seems pretty expensive to me - I've been told to go to Demon tweeks who will do a...

Re: complete loss of power on hills
thanks for the suggestions - yeh my feeling is its either fuel mixture or timing - i had problems with the fuel mixture for the mot as it was causing high emmisions but the garage managed to lower it for it to pass, but perhaps in doing so it effected the mixture to cause the power loss problem? i'l...

complete loss of power on hills
Hi, Just had my 1.9DG 1988 t25 back from the garage (after having had new radiator and mot) and taken it out for a spin, but there is a real loss of power when approaching hills. basically if I approach at around 40-50mph in 4th gear, as soon as the hill starts the revs drop below to between 1500 an...

Re: 1.9dg carburettor vacuum unit?
vacuum unit still listed from VW, note it's a T25 specific part, even though 2e3s were used on different vehicles the carbs are not the same, differnt jets, pull downs, cams for cable connection, vac units etc...vary 025 129 061 about £35 if it goes obsolete from VW then ask Brickie to get it from ...

Re: correct radiator?
Called Baxter and as you can imagine they have no issues with a refund but are loath to send a new one out until they receive the original back, understandable to be honest, but as I need it asap due to now having the van in bits i've ordered the thicker one and i'll send the other one back as and ...
