Well later update is engine is buggered. I am not going to open a can of work and try and repair it so new engine time.
I need a replacement engine so idea of cheapest diesel engine would be welcome.

Hi, I need help. I have the full vanagon manual of pdf but it does not have a 1.6Td wiring diagram for the engine bay. I am trying to install the wiring to the Td engine and when i have put the wiring in I can not trace some of the wires. Has anybody got a wiring diagram i can trace the wires with.....

Got the Td up and running at weekend Aidan but need new glowplug relay and had no throttle so need to bleed air from system.
