Re: New front seats

I fitted leather alfa romeo seats in mine a few years ago and I drive it every day. They're really comfortable. I'm 6 foot 1 as well. I removed the vw runners and bolted directly to the wheel arches. Slightly higher than normal vw seats but works fine with the standard big steering wheel. I do find ...

Thanks, I think I'll try the gaffa tape trick with tigerseal.
I'll let you know how it goes!

Re: Repairing tears in rubber floor mats

Just about to try repairing some rips on my cab mat. I have some black tigerseal that I will try to use. Any tips?

Re: Paint Your Wagon - with a roller!

Just make sure you have a good thickness in your epoxy primer. A lot easier to do it now!

Re: Paint Your Wagon - with a roller!

I'm sure this has been asked before, so apologies for asking it again if so. Has anyone had their van professionally resprayed, some time after painting it with combicolor? Did the combicolor cause any issues/extra expense? Cheers Sent from my Pixel 3a using Tapatalk I hvlp sprayed mine with rustol...

Re: Powerflex trailing arm bushes - worth it?

If I was doing it again, I'd fit Powerflex due to the ease of fitment.
Here are some photos of how I fitted my rubber ones last time...

Re: Headlight relay upgrade

I did this upgrade a few months ago - I bought a cheap relay loom off ebay with ceramic h4 plugs on it. Just search for "H4 relay harness". Loads of them available for around a tenner.  The two relays that came with mine have a transparent plastic casing. I ran a new wire with 40A fuse fro...

Re: Thermostat which way round

Maybe your engine just isn't getting up to operating temperature - take her for a decent drive and then leave her sitting idling for a few minutes afterwards.

Re: Thermostat which way round

You could just have a faulty thermostat that tends to stick closed. The one I got was calorstat brand which I think is a good one.
You could try drilling a tiny hole say 2mm in the stat to eliminate air bubbles, but it shouldn't be necessary.

Re: Thermostat which way round

I didn't think they had a bleed hole. People sometimes drill a small hole in the thermostat itself but I think thats a botch job. Here's an 87 degree one that was fitted in my 1.9dAEF https://i.postimg.cc/fbv8LBJk/20170201_215557_zpssrspbmwo.jpg And an old 87 degree one out of a 1.6dCS- this one was...

It could be time for a decent new aerial...
Hard to beat a full length stainless steel aerial.
