T25 - no synchro from 4th to 3rd

1987 T25 1.6 tdi... Although all gears work normally changing up from 1st to 4th, I've always had to double declutch when changing down from top to 3rd, even at very slow speed (though not from 3rd to 2nd). But the other day someone told me that I shouldn't have to double declutch at all.... Is that...

Yes, thanks for that. Did the test and the solenoid does work. There was air in the feed pipe, combined with it being parked on a downhill incline, and only just enough fuel in the tank...
I bunged some more fuel in, rolled it onto a flat surface, and off it went.
Thanks again.

T25 1.6Tdi fuel cut-off solenoid - testing and/or removal

Hi there 2 Days after a new MOT and the van failed to start (first time in 4 years that it has not started). I checked the obvious stuff - fuel in tank, power to glowplugs and cut-off solenoid. All Okay. Then I discovered that there was no fuel being delivered to the injectors. As the feed pipes and...

horn connection on steering wheel

1986 T25 About 2in of metal on the horn connection has been stripped away (a key on the keyring managed to get jammed in between the steering wheel assembly as I was driving along) so the horn does not work in the 'straight ahead' position. It does work as soon as the steering wheel is turned slight...

Thank you for that. My local VW Stealership assure me that they will have to remove and refit all 4 pipes in order to fit a new No3 - at a cost of approx £150!
The little rascals...

fitting injector pipe

Silly question...?
Is it necessary to remove/refit all 4 injector pipes on my 1.6Td if I only want to replace No3?

Thanks for that.
I assume I can just replace 'the' pipe instead of the set?

injector pipes 1.6Td 1987

Found a pinprick-sized hole on an injector pipe. Where can I get a new set of injector pipes online?
TIA

glow plug relay #2

I've fitted a new glow plug relay (thanks to bradcab) but now, instead of the light going off when the engine starts, it stays on permanently!
Any thoughts?

fitting glow plug relay

1987 T25 1600Td
After I had a recon engine fitted the glow plug indicator light does not go off when the glow plugs are warm - but does go off as soon as I start the engine (after 20 secs or so). I've bought a new glow plug relay but... where does it go?
:?

electrolux 3-Way fridge piezo failure

Just discovered that my pilot light igniter has packed up. Grrr. I'm off tomorrow for a weekend in the Peaks. Is there a quick fix to get the pilot light lit/to stay on (the gas works okay). How much is a new igniter?
Cheers
