yep, primed the pump as they don't like being dry do they, seems to work for a bit then give up...... The pumps are totally different unfortunately plus I lost the spring yesterday like a pillock. Dropped it, never to be seen again!!

had a play with my old one and lost the spring! Does anyone know if the ball-bearing goes in the pump first then the spring or the other way around (If I ever find the spring...it's so small!) Tried crimping the feed from my new pump to see if that made a difference and the white smoke went so defin...

cheers guys, the old pump def has 2 nuts so will try and adjust that but it doesn't seem to want to pump but does make the clicking noise but it's the 2nd pump I've had and as they'e so old it's not surprsing they give in. The new pump doesn't have any I don't think....will have a play!!

after so many problems with my eber I ended up buying a new but totally random fuel pump as mine was working intermittently. The good news is it fires up VERY time and nice and toasty. As per above comments I now have a new addition to the engine...a smaller socket hammered onto sump plug! Changed the oil with halfords classic, plus oil filter and bunged some engine leak stuff in. Only ran it a bit to get warm but other than a small drip of dirty oil that is probably left on the b...

I think its always leaked from there a bit but seems to have suddenly increased. Again, maybe the oil has just hit that very runny stage! Does anyone know the correct filter from halfords? As 2nd gear pops out occasionally I will try and wait until I can get the gearbox and clutch done in one...... ...

cheers Mark and Mart, I'll give that a go but as oil has been pi**ing out and I have done a couple of hundred miles without it slipping I'm ever hopeful.....

Yes Mart! Oh this doesn't sound good. Definitely a job for someone else then and sounds EXPENSIVE!
