Brake pedal gone hard

The brake pedal on my Westy has become quite hard to press down, the brakes still work fine but just require a lot more of a shove on the pedal.I have checked the discs, pads, shoes, cylinders etc and all are in good condition and working as they should.I have replaced the vac pump with another one ...

Re: Isle of Wight Campsites?

We had two weeks in August at Adgestone camping and caravan club site, we had a fantastic time, the wardens are really friendly and helpful. The site is really big and was only at most 3/4 full. The reviews say that the toilet blocks need up dating which is true but they were still spotlessly clean an...

Re: vague steering...

Polybushed my steering rack, could not believe the difference when I drove it after it was like driving a different van.

Re: On the verge of overheating up steep hills

I had a similar problem with a Volvo 740td, turned out the radiator was badly clogged up, replaced it and the car ran cooler than it ever had.My gauge fluctuates slightly on my westy but I have found that the water pump drive belt requires regular checking and tightening.I now know if it is a bit sl...

Re: Anti-roll bar d bush replacement

I took mine off as all the other bushes were knackered aswell.I replaced them with the poly ones and it has transformed the van, have to agree that the ones on the end of the roll bar are a bit of a pig to fit but well worth the effort. :D

Re: Shock absorbers these any good?

Just put bilstein gas shocks on my westy, expensive but worth it, the van has been transformed.Even though only one of my front shocks was visibly leaking once removed it was obvious that they were all well past their best. :D

Re: Upper Ball Joints both sides

I replaced both my upper ball joints this week, had to cut the head off one of the bolts as it rounded but apart from that it was easy. I bought mine from brickwerks, not cheap but the quality seems very good and they came with new bolts.

Re: Diesel pump leaking

Had my van back today after having the fuel pump leak fixed. It suddenly got alot worse 2 weeks ago so had the pump removed and took it to a specialist in Newport. The fault was a large seal inside the pump had perished, have had all seals inside replaced, new stop solenoid and the pump recalibrated.A...

Re: caravan/camping clubs?

Hi We have been members of the caravan club for quite a while but when we sold the caravan last year and bought our westy we also joined the caravan and camping club. Both offer very good sites and facilities but I have to agree that there is certainly alot of snobbery amongst many of the caravan clu...
