Re: Rear Springs Replacement - Compression Tool

Brickwerks standard rear suspension. They just seem slightly wider when compressed so rubbing on the side of upper metal box.
I'll take for a run and see if it sorts itself out

Re: Rear Springs Replacement - Compression Tool

All done with a bit of pulling and shoving but when compressed, the spring appears to rub against the square metal housing. All seems central enough and fitted correctly in the top and bottom boots.
Am I missing something, springs seen correct

Rear Springs Replacement - Compression Tool

Hi all, the van has given me the task of replacing the rear springs where one has snapped.

Lots of mixed reviews on the compression tools. Any recommendations. Also any gotchas to look out for when doing the job. Looks relatively simple but hazardous from what I've looked up

Thanks

Re: T25 84 Side elevating roof Strut replacement

Did you manage to achieve this in the end. Have replaced horizontals after fixing ripped hinge from roof, but verticals seem way too powerful and pins are no longer straight due to plastic roof bowing from 30 years of use, so having a nightmare getting them on even with ratchets. After getting fixed...

Re: Oil Leak Rear of Aircooled Engine

Will do although that seems a bit further back from where the oil is ending up. Wonder if it's the oil pump gasket. Rosie n Jim, do you have the procedure to removing the fan housing without dropping the engine. Would like to get in and take a peek but with all these things it's never easy and you s...

Oil Leak Rear of Aircooled Engine

Hi All, after a successful camping trip I appear to have an oil leak at the rear of the engine dripping down the center of the inside edge of the fan housing. I'm having trouble locating it but assume its the rear crankshaft oil seal but unable to see it. Assume its not oil cooler as its further for...

Re: Failed gearbox repair

That is a good point. Speaking to someone they said the slipping could be caused by fluid getting into the clutch so possibly the part causing the whining noise has breached allowing oil onto the clutch plate?
Apologies, this is slightly out of my realm

Failed gearbox repair

Hi all, after getting the old boy back on the road the gearbox appears to have failed. Been a wee noisy recently like a bearing on its way out but now judders, slips and pretty much undriveable. Any recommendations on companies in the Hampshire or Surrey location that diagnose and repair.

Devon pop top roof seal

Hi all, finding it hard to locate a replacement for my degraded seal between the metal roof and Devon pop top. I can find those which attach to the opening roof but not that which seals the roof cutaway. Any ideas?

I could just seal with an outside black sealant if can't find the part.

Cheers
