Re: carb problem, choke problem, accel problem?????
hi, the engine revs should be above normal tick over speed when cold starting. Once the engine has been running for 5 mins or so a quick blip of pedal should let the fast idel cam release. sometimes the black plastic pulldown unit splits inside and lets the choke flap move to much.Sounds like you ha...

Re: Any idea what this part is call please.
hi,
vw probably call it a manifold/switch housing. It is where the hot water from the cylinder head flows to your heater circuit. Check to see how many switchs(sensors) it has before ordering. cheers

Re: What symptoms should I look for if my CV's are wearing?
Hi,
I would be suprised if worn cv's would make that much noise. Try removing your prop shaft as this will eliminate any locked on vc issues winding up the front diff and causing drag.
cheers

Re: Brake Fluid leak as per earlier thread
Hi,
more likely to be your clutch master cylinder leaking, the bolt in the pic holds the master cylinder in place. you will have some fluid loss when removing and fitting new part. pull back your rubber mat/ carpet first and get ready with the rags!

Hi there,
It could be your fuel cut-off solinoid playing up. When the ignition is turned on the solinoid receives 12v and opens plunger. Well worth checking your wiring for electric fuel pump to.
cheers

Re: Replacing exhaust system teaser
All eight, that is bad luck! now the motor is out you should be able to use a little heat on the studs, you can use a tool called an easy out which allows you to drill a smallish hole in the broken stud then wind a threaded stud into the hole which is both tapered and left hand thread, it is really ...

Re: Snapped front CV shafts!
I have had discussions with the manufacturer Interparts today, who have been very helpful, they do manufacture all the products they sell in China, but the factory ships in raw materials and they manufacture from scratch in house, they operate to ISO 9001:2000 which is a quality management standard....

Re: Snapped front CV shafts!
you can't win here can you......I have tried to suggest a balanced view, taking in all the evidence should be applied rather than jumping to conclusions. I'm not running anyone down, its not in my nature to use a public forum to do that, I very rarely use forums for this very reason. However sometim...

Re: Snapped front CV shafts!
Its interesting to note how many experts have written off the CV joint without any evidence whatsoever, it seems incredible that a company that has been trading for some time would compromise its market share by introducing inferior products on to the market. We have used this product on our own veh...
