I would assume they would tell you how to add beam benders on the packet.
That said as most things like this put of China there is almost no information provided.

Re: New pads/bearings/disks - Grease cap exploded off. Regrease needed?
Any grease is better than no grease. But you want bearing grease. New bearings come with grease but its not enough i think. They need packing then slathering. Palm of the hang greased and presing grease though by pushing bearing down. The bearings are goosed - they need changing. You have had metal ...

A temp fix is a temp fix. Something to get you from A to B before a final permanent fix. Dont get me wrong, me personally I would always be looking at a supergllue fix to see if it is holding up. Exposed to oil on one side, extreme weather temps and wet. I have never found superglue to be a superglu...

Your garage has overtightened the nuts. As said the washer is moveable with a screwdriver.
Is that a nail in the nut in the pic?

Re: CV Boot Split!
In all the it takes you to to do a bodge like a split boot it will take probably 2-3 longer doing it properly.
If in a rush and for a temp fix before its done properly then a split boot is the only way. Hope it holds for your travels.

I got a paper gasket for the reverse light housing from BW.
But it protrudes alot. Closer inspection of the housing cover shows it should be a rubber o ring seal. VW pn 094 301 278 A. Any idea on where to get this part or will the paper seal hold up.

Glad you got it working. Well done.
Scamazon is such a rip off. Any electrical shops near you and those capacitors would have cost cents.

Being unfamiliar with old VW and not having the manuals and not being able to spanner makes ownership a world of (financial) pain.

Re: Oil query
Ahh a good old oil thread.
These engines are so old any modern oil will do thats in spec. I use 10w40 on my JX.
In such an old engine mixing a mineral with ss wont do any harm.
