Re: After Market Head Unit
https://i.imgur.com/ctpW10U.jpeg I got this from Ali express - 45 delivered in a week. Fits perfectly. Some have an offset face so wont fit the slot symmetrically. Thats with car play, rear camera, bt calls, phone charging. Cleaned all wiring up, fitting rear cam and works a treat. Took me best par...

Re: T3 clutch is gone
used cylinders - from a breaker.
New are cheap enough for cyclinder near gbox.
(gsf, brickwerks etc),
Main more expensive.
Sounds like parts darts to me.

Re: Clutch slave issue - brand question
What parts did you use OP. Replaced mine last year. Fiddley little things. only changed it as I wanted to bleed it and there was no way the bleed nipple was coming off. Went to gsf in the end - was cheap and the premium product (so they say). Would not touch anything from JK. The pricing dept there ...

Re: little advice pls
Hmmmm tough one. If you know the van well and like it and want to keep it then you know the answer. AW Engineering may be able to salvage alot of the engine. A replacement from them is say 2.5k. At the amount you paid for having the pump refone - find another mechanic otherwise an engine job is goin...

Re: Overheating - 1981 1.6D in eastern Ukraine
Good point above regarding the long coolant pipes. I doubt they are original - they all seemed to fail about 10 years ago but who knows. The originals were white plastic with a metal barb on the ends. The barbs rusted and split the plastic letting water out/air in. Replaced with two part ss now with...

Re: Factory fitted side window replacement
There is a good go westy vid on youtube.
I done a few windows last summer. Used washing up line from the pound shop. lubed up with a spray bottle of washing up liquid.
Was an absolute doddle.
Good idea regarding boiling water for this time of year.

Thats good use from that bearing. Once corrosion sets in a bearing its just a matter of time.
New bearings nowadays are really poor - hardly any grease in them even the best quality fag ones.
I always pop the seals - and repack. A dollop of grease on the palm.

Re: Overheating - 1981 1.6D in eastern Ukraine
How did you get on OP. Removing the stat is the first thing to do as clearly the pressure is in the head as rad stays cool. Run it and bleed it. The water pumps are very strong on these - they are purely mechanical with metal impeller. Only the bearings can fail and that you will hear. Pressure is b...

Re: proper T25 1.6 TD engine oil Northern Ireland
The oil filter housing - what do you mean.
The oil filter screws on an oil cooler. If your going this deep - dont bother with used.
There are alot of sellers on ebay offering used items at silly prices.
Get on the brickwerks site.

Re: proper T25 1.6 TD engine oil Northern Ireland
VW specified 15-40 mineral.
I use 10-40 SS - easier spin over and starting.
Just spent a year rebuilding my JX (at plodding pace).
Most important is to change oil every 4-5k.
They are very very simple engines.
Good luck.

JX injection pump - regcheeseman
So folks just a heads up to regcheeseman and a big thanks. I had a leak on my IP at the back. Watched a few YT vids and didnt fancy dealing with springs and bits flying everywhere. A search on here led me to regcheeseman doing work on these pumps. I managed to contact him via the forum and a few mes...
