Re: Brake Splash Guard Screws
can you not align the shield with the with the hub annd caliper and figure out what needs cutting off the plate.
odd that something wont fit. Are you surw its the right part for your car.
I have always used BW for parts and never had an issue with fitment and the need to fettle anything.

Re: Restored engine rough idle.
Placing a valve on the turbo inlet is not wise. Ot feeds the turbo oil to lube and cool it. Get a new return line - 52 notes from BW. 5 mins to change ensuring it flows downwards. a king in turbo drain = oil cant get out so it backs up and goes out of exhaust - change it before you fry your turbo. P...

Re: Restored engine rough idle.
Tbf sound just fine.
If it drives fine, no power loss - then doubt its a cylinder issue.
My jx has always smoked a tad on start.
Did you clean the rocker cover mesh and the pcv. check turbo return is good (any kinks) otherwise oil holds in turbo and blows out exhaust.

Re: Oil in the air filter box :o
Pretty sure that could be a symptom of worn rings creating excess crankcase pressure...... Or just a blocked breather , worth cleaning all the breather pipes out and be sure the oil isn’t over filled Simple test for over pressure - run engine with oil cap sitting on the fill hole - if it jumps abou...

Re: Spongey brakes Aircooled
Ahhhhh a lovely job the rear brakes and adjusting the handbrake. Best done on a nice warm day. very rewarding job. I have done almost everything on my bus since last summer (spent a fortune with Brickwerks). There is a fantastic video by endfloat on youtube. watch it 10 times and have it on play whi...

Re: Brake Splash Guard Screws
Done a brake overhaul (fronts) last summer. The backing plates were like biscuits and they fell apart around the bolts. I was concerned about getting the bolts out. Your best friend with old rusty bolts is a blow torch and plus gas and wire brush (where nut and bolt). Nothing would budge the bolts a...

You need to follow the wire.
Zig will (should) have a relay on it.

Re: Upper Balljoint Nut
An adjustable or C clamp can help but can be tricky. Squeeze the knuckle to the control arm somehow and then turn the nut. Tightening the nut first and cleaning the thread that sticks out might ease turning it loose all way. I doubt I'd get a clamp on there, but I have tried jacking up the strut to...

Re: Identification of part t25 engine compartment
Yea its just very fiddly.
Done mine last summer and getting the bolts was a PITA.
Looking at the OP he needs that cleaned up an plus gassed before any spanner is let near it.

Re: Upper Balljoint Nut
Ahhh the joys of working on T25 and old seized nuts.
Days before any job plus gas is your friend.
Clean up the area first with a small wire brush.
There is normally a allen socket in the top to hold the bolt to prevent the joint spinning.
Failing that - time to get the grinder out.

Guess the clutch has never been bled by the looks of it.
Time for a new cylinder.
Horrible job to do.
Those plastic lines are actually clear.
Get some waxoly in there.
