alternator securing bolts
Wondering if anyone has experienced this and could advise... On investigating why the fan belt had started squeaking, I found that the alternator was only secured to the engine by the adjustment bar, and that the two mounting bolts at the bottom were missing. On deeper inspection, the bolts weren't ...

Re: Temperamental temperature light!
The levels are all ok - how do you go about bleeding the system though (my husband may have done this already but not sure if he did it right)?!? We did have to fill it up again with water after it was all ditched on the dual carriageway in a traffic jam, however after doing this and subsequently re...

Re: Temperamental temperature light!
Apologies for the incorrect terminology - but glad it was clear what I meant.... Thanks for your help. It may well be an electrical fault. I was wondering though, whether it may be to do with whether water was getting round the system properly. Again, excuse me if I'm not using the best terminology ...

Temperamental temperature light!
Just wondering if anyone can advise - we have an interesting issue with our temp warning light... It's going on (sometimes - but not always) when we drive, when the gauge reaches around half way. However, when we turn right, the temperature goes back down and the light goes off - oh, the joys of old...

Re: carpet interior lining - how can I stop the dust??
Thanks for the feedback guys - good to hear it's not just our van! Will definitely investigate relining, perhaps once we get the carb working properly and deal with the rust!!!

carpet interior lining - how can I stop the dust??
New member, loads of questions due from me I'm sure.... Can anyone help? The carpet lining in the van has begun to degrade due to sun and we get loads of fibres falling whenever anything is moved around. Not ready to tackle replacing interior yet, but has anyone come across this and found any way of...

Re: NEW MEMBER / OWNER NEEDING ADVICE!! BACKFIRING ONCE WARM..
Brilliant! Glad we're on the right track. Previous owners suggested engine might be dying - any chance it could be this? Hopefully a bit more work and we can plan our first trip! Thanks loads for help.

NEW MEMBER / OWNER NEEDING ADVICE!! BACKFIRING ONCE WARM..
Hi, new to forum and just bought a 1.9 Petrol Watercooled T25 (1983). Wondering if anyone has any ideas as to how we might go about solving van's problems?? We knew when we bought it very cheap that it was a bit broken, but having had a few beetles in the past thought that it might just need some ca...
