angle will strenthen the rails, if you put it on the top side you wont have clearance probs. But remember any thing is only as strong as the weakest bit, if you strenthen the rails will the brakets they are held on with take a good smack with out snaping? Taking the front off gives access to the locking components and allows you to strip it down. It is the best way to free off a locker. Can i get into the diff lock from the front end of the diff housing? i dont want to disturb the VC if i dont have to cause it works at the mo and i know nowt about them so am relutent to pull it out

Right ive got a uj gone in my prop. can i remove the prop and still run it in 2wd or will it wind up the front diff and or V/C?
