Re: Tdi troubles....
Yep, about 2 mm of end float on it, Baxter has seen it before he said, edges of the belt were chamfered but the back of the belt was worn, just reduced the strength of the belt till it went

Re: Tdi troubles....
I've just had the cambelt go on my TDi - play in the intermediate shaft, moving in and out. As the pulley is driven by the back of the belt it just wore the belt out and it eventually let go.

Re: HELP WITH TDI INSTALL (1z engine?)
oof, let yourself in for a lot more work going with a TDi ... how did the gearbox feel when you drove it - has it been upgraded? Did you get up to cruising speed or was it a trip round the block? Wiring is a big job, sounds like a bit of a nightmare if the whole loom was just shoved under the seat. ...

Re: fed up. weekends planned ruined
Most shows have parts for sale, traders or an autojumble, but not as much as in the past - t'internet makes it all available all the time... Chappy on Brick-yard has got some bits for sale, might split the bits off his engine for the exhaust manifold, he's got an oil feed pipe aswell he was giving a...

Re: fed up. weekends planned ruined
Its a KKK which is a start - perhaps its part of the casting - have a look for KKK K14 somewhere - if its the SB engine code then I'm pretty sure its a K14 Can be put together without a turbo but wont be great, will be flat as a fart... Should be able to find the exhaust manifold for not much money...

Re: fed up. weekends planned ruined
If you can get hold of a JX exhaust manifold and exhaust, then you'll be able to bolt up a JX exhaust downpipe, and as long as the silencer you have is a diesel one, it'll all bolt together. Also means when you need to replace it a few years down the line it'll be off the shelf. You'll also be able ...

Re: fed up. weekends planned ruined
Hard to tell from the photos but it looks like the golf turbo and exhaust manifold - that kit is made for the jx (T25) turbo and manifold, the turbo sits more tucked in and lower, and it definitely fits (its what I have on my van). Have you fitted up the t25 sump - can't tell from photos. If it is t...

Re: Reservoir top LH side engine
Thats not a TDi - it has a mechanical pump on it (well, unless it is a TDi with a mechanical pump on it!?!) - I guess it will be an AAZ TD - be more likely a 1995 donor, not a 2005 though No idea what that tank is, doesn't look like it has a Charge cooler on it which it could have been... Think you'...

Re: what engine code ok for TDI or TD convertion?
AFN is the 110hp - good engine. You'll need custom engine mounts etc for it. 1Z and AHU - similar to above, lower power (90hp) AAZ - easier install, can use all the 1.6 TD engine bits to make it almost bolt straight in. AAZ is not a TDi TDi's really need a custom built gearbox to match the way they ...
