Yeah, fair point about the paint but then if I was buying I'd rather know what state the seams are in.

By the bearing face I mean the machined surface of the flywheel that orientates towards the retaining ring, shim and thrust washer that are positioned at the rear end of the crankshaft external to the cases. Yes, normally, but I suspect that the end play is too great to correct with shims. I will try to measure it more precisely.
