Oil treatment
Hi I have a 2.1 dj WBX engine and was wondering if it was ok to put slick 50 into the engine when I change the oil, or if there is any other product recommended by you guys

Hi there, I think it could be a spark plug issue either one has failed or the gap is too close together. It could be a faulty lead where the spark is tracking down the side of the plug or the timing could be slightly out. Hope this helps. It's worth ruling out the simple and less expensive things fi...

right you have checked the fuel alls ok, the leads are on right, and it did run for a while, so I would be looking if you now have a spark, so whip the plugs out and check there clean, allso check you have a spark at each one. Then check the timming hasnt moved ! fuel is ok, and it ran for two week...

hi, just fitted a refurb 1.6ct engine to my van and i have a problem. When i first started it after fitting it ran and would tick over, i could even go for a run, but now it turns over and won't start. I've got spark from the coil and down the ht leads. Some times it will start but not run for long,...

Hi,
I know with cars that what your describing it sounds like there is still some air locked in the system. When the engine is warm and you release the resivour cap ( carefully ) is there alot of steam coming out or is the water bubbling.

When doing the mixture, when do you know when you got the idle right. I've only done mixture adjustments on mark 2 golfs with rev gauges, the van hasn't got a rev gauge so not quite sure.

thanks for the info, have been working on the van this morning found that the carb was very loose. One nut wasnt even on!!! Took carb off and found that the studs were stretched in the hosing through over tightening from whoever did it last. Ive put in new studs and retightened onto body. Going to r...

Van cutting out at junctions
Hi, I have an 1.6 air cooled van and it has a problem of when depressing the clutch and slowing down it cuts out, but if you restart it, it will idle fine. Also if you do slow town driving it's fine, only seams to happen when slowing down from speed. can anyone help
