Re: New fuel pump but still no fuel to carb

Hi all, many thanks to all the regulars for there information and advice. I don't post often as I know very little compared to you but have you checked the little cone filter in the carb inlet? It can be removed carefully with an appropriate sized screw. Regards Jed Sent from my HTC U11 life using ...

Still had to add fuel to carb but assumed cos filter changed etc. Drove 10 miles but when restarted engine cut out after a less than a minute. Still no fuel to carb. Sucked ...

Whereabouts in Essex are you? There is a place near Braintree (Rayne Auto) and one in Colchester (Superbeetles).

Good mechanic in Essex - found

Good service deserves to be applauded. I used Rayne Auto Clinic (07866 950553) near Braintree, Essex in an emergency. Only found them by accident whilst searching internet. VW enthusiast, quick turn around, very friendly and helpful. Would recommend them and will be using them from now on. http://ww...

Re: fix or sell van with engine problems

Agree with Ian - you need to get someone who knows (and cares) about old VWs to have a look. There is a VW camper specialist in W10 (http://www.jacksgarage.co.uk/contact/index.htm" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;) which may be near you (although don't know them myself). Elite...

Re: making new interior panels/door cards

Whether making your own or buying ready cut remember to waterproof with varnish or something. Especially the door cards as water is designed to run inside the doors to an outlet at the bottom. I have purchased MDF and ply ready made - neither fitted exactly (probably due to my van being out of shape...
