t25 exhaust

Hi to all.Got a wee prob wae my t25 exhaust.Its a 1982 1.9 petrol.Fitted new j-tube to the n/s. Its got a heat exchanger on the o/s.Why is this as the van is water cooled or am i realy stupid.Can i replace this with a j/tube also.Hell of a lot cheeper.Many thanks for reading.Hope someone can advise,...

Right...! From the alternator the power is taken to one of the posts on the solenoid of the startor motor. Also connected to that post is the thick lead that runs from your batterys + terminal. Is your charging light coming on when engine is running? If it is then this could well be an alternator p...

There is heavy gauge cable from the battery to the starter motor and the output from the Alt links across to this cable via the red wires. According to the Bentley manual the two red wires are in parallel and both connect to the same point on the starter. Have a peek at the starter cable connection...

Nominal battery voltage 12 -12.6volts should increase instantly to between 13.9-14.2 when the engine is started and the red charge light goes out. Your battery simply is not recieving charge from the alternator...either there is a breakin the main lead or earth (unlikely) or you have a faulty alter...

Red wires to starter motor assembly if you mean where do they go from the Alt (according to the Bently manual for 84 models) and from there to the battery. My alt is new but not charging the battery.Its a 45amp.When running the alt is putting out 12.4, even when reving engine.I think the wires leading away from back of the alt are needing replaced.I just cant work out where they go to

Hi.Ivv got a t25 petrol.1984 1900cc van conversion.there are three wires at the back of the alt. two red and a blue.I know that the blue wire is for the dashboard light but where do the other two red wires go tho.I cant make heads or tails of the haynes manual.Not very clever when it comes to electr...

Hi and thank you for the quick responce.The main lead.do you mean the lead from the pos of the battery to the starter etc.The van ticks over at 12.4 and when i rev the van it holds steady at 12.4.Im not clued up on elecs and just want to double check before i start

Hi there.Ive got a 1984 t25 1900 petrol van conversion.The battery holds a charge for a few days.Ive replaced the battery with a 580 amp battery.I thought that the alternator was faulty also because as i started the van the battery voltage dropped to about 10.5.when van was running the voltage held ...
