Just done Sheffield to devon and back,636 miles 85.7 litres of petrol used working out to 33.74 to the gallon.Thats loaded up but at a steady 50 -55 mph.Thats ignoring the hour or so buggering about due to cacked up fuel filter :roll:

Bad Petrol ?

How common is it to get shoddy petrol nowadays? A few weeks ago straight after putting petrol in ( a couple of mins) the van started coughing and spluttering coming to a stop on the A38 going home.It would still fire up but it wouldnt continue running unless i pumped the throttle.After a few minutes...

Mine was like this when I got it,no matter how precise I was with the timing it ran like a pig.Wasnt till I checked the engine number and found someone had sneaked a DF in :shock:

Compression test: No 1 cylinder : 65 psi No 2 cylinder : 140 psi No 3 cylinder : 65 psi No 4 cylinder : 140 psi Something definately amiss there shouldnt be that much of a difference between cylinders I think 10% variation is about the rule. I had a good poke around today and took the earth strap off the gearbox nose and gave it all a good clean up with a wire brush. Strap itself looked in decent condition and now has nice shiny copper ends. I cleaned up the chassis too and reinstalled - covering the lot in Vaseline. It does seem to be...

Yep changed it when I changed the starter.And it will start with a shove
load reduction relay
Wheres that live? When I say you can hear the solenoid it is only just audible not a healthy clicking like when you have a flat battery

Yes both have been replaced with new. Like I said I`m at a bit of a loss as I`m running out of things to swap
