Thanks Mocki

It had an oil and filter change just before the trip. no leaks though. I'll change the oil to regular stuff, see if that sorts things out.

What oil did you use At the last oil change I used Halfords semi-synthetic, and after about 300 miles the oil warning lights and buzzer sounds intermitently, and, when I turn the ignition on, the oil warning light goes straight out, before the engine has cranked over. Have I used the wrong oil? Or ...

It starts and runs from cold for a minute or so, then stuggles for a bit, (reving then almost stalling then reving) before dying. I had the same problem with mine when I first got it. I replaced the inlet manifold gaskets (between the carb and the inlet mainfold and between the inlet manifold and t...

Thanks for the diagrams Mike, need to brush up my (IE learn) German :-P

Are we going to get into any copyright issues posting this in the wiki? I'm going to be building a rock'n'roll bed in to my van shortly, so I'll document everything (with piccies) for the wiki if you like.

With the engine running (and the battey light on the dash out) set the volt meter to the nearest DC range above 15v and attach it to the battery. You should get a reading about 12v (13.8v to 14.4v) if its working.

Fitting Saab Seats

Hi All, I've got some Saab 9000 seats I plan to fit over the weekend. I've read through Shauns fitting guide . Any other hints/tricks to help fitting? Any recommendations for what makes the best/easiest/cheapest spacers for the runners? Has anyone worked out the wiring for the heating elements? Chee...

do you mean the aux lights (wired to the leisure battery) work with the engine running but the leisure battery out? They will, once the split charge relay has been triggered (when the charge light goes off) the positive of the normal battery and the positive clamp for the leisure battery will be joi...

Thanks for the reply hagzo, but those aren't the clips I'm on about. The ones which are causing me trouble are the U shaped clips which "slip" in behind the temperture senders to hold them into the thermostat housing. I think the idea is that the ends of the U open out as then are forced a...
