Re: FULLY BOOKED
It does take the fun out of it ... we got our van to go to music festivals and do less of that now and more, just setting off and finding a nice place but increasingly our nice places have been sold out so we thought we'd book ahead ... no can do :-( ... ho hum ... might drive to Scarborough for a ...

Re: T25 Mechanics in Kent/Essex/South London?
Personally I would recommend VW Airfix in Carshalton, great job in quick time, despite being pretty busy. Will be going back again with some other minor things I want sorted.

VW Airfix
Just wanted to say I would highly recommend VW Airfix to anyone in the Surrey/South London area (or further!). Fixed up our brakes and non exisistant hand brake (new brakes fitted wrong by a "mate") and the mrs was unwilling to drive it till it was fixed properly! He also got it MOT'd and ...

After about a year of the van just sitting there its time to ger her back on the road on give her some much needed TLC! ..anyways, Im going to replace the sliding door seal (nearside) as they are shot to pieces currently, I have seen them on JK and VW Heritage etc, but I wondered if there they all t...

Re: Sliding Door Strike Plate

Re: Sliding door lock has seized, door stuck open help
Im sure someone with more experiance than me will be along soon to add comment, but I've recently had big problems with my sliding door and hijacked many a thread about sliding doors, but have pretty much sorted my problems now myself. I ended up taking ALL the locking mechanisms off and gave all a ...

Re: sliding door driving me crazy!!
This pic shows the gap on the left hand side of the door - looks lot worse without the rubber seals but its about 2-3cm. http://i758.photobucket.com/albums/xx229/VWT25_2010/camper%20van/SAM_0978.jpg A zoomed out pic showing where the close up pic are from. http://i758.photobucket.com/albums/xx229/VW...

Re: sliding door driving me crazy!!
I had a similar problem with mine, and after much fettling/headscratching and swearing, I eventually bought another hinge unit of e-pay for a tenner which fixed the problem. I figured that the hinge bar attaching the door to the sliding mechanism was bent, although it looked ok... Yeah I keep think...

Re: sliding door driving me crazy!!
May be a silly/obvious question, but have you checked the seal hasn't popped out? Just renewed my seal and it was a right bugger getting it in behind the door (had to resort to taking the door off at the bottom) but eventually, it all went back in. Yeah good shout, I was wondering this the other da...

Im concerned Im barking...

Re: Sliding door hard to close
Theres normally a large pin on the rear of the door frame into which the lock engages. The lock on the door 'grabs' this pin and that what holds the door shut. It can move over time. Ah yes I know what you mean I think, will have a look later to see how it lines up and if its doing its job. Cheers ...

Re: Sliding door hard to close
Try undoing the pin on the door frame next to rear seat. All that slamming may have moved it further away. Just undo it with an open ended spanner, moving it further in or out of the van and retightening until you get a smoother shut. Cov, Im having issues with my sliding door (as posted on another...
