Re: Best Engine to Meet Euro 4 or 6 Emissions? ULEZ issue
I am in the same boat however I understand that you only get charged if you pass one of the cameras. So parked up outside your house is fine. As a daily driver it would be expensive but as the occasional holiday or weekend camper it is doable.

Re: Agg gti conversion, what airbox are you using?
Titus reviving this old thread - did you fit the airbox? i have taken a look at the void in front of the left hand rear light - it looks doable but how do you change the air filter once it is in situ? Looks like you would have to remove the top of the engine. aha - just found the answer on a...

Re: Waltraud AGG from DG conversion starting
First time I've been used as an engine hoist!
Hope pavement was cleared before dark.
Let me know if you need me for the insertion of the new engine.

Re: LT heated door mirrors - wiring for westy california
Hi there, your van is 1989 so likely to be the following: for the light - grey/blue live and brown earth for the defogger Black/white live from fuse 14 on the fuse board and white green switched live to the rear defogger via a couple of connectors (the wire turns black from the first connector to th...

Re: Eberspacher diesel tank.
That is a good point about it being a hassle however for those of us with a diesel motor and eber who may have to change fuel type in order to use our vans in an ultra low emission zone the suggestion of an auxiliary diesel tank for the existing eber is a good idea.
anyone fitted one?

Re: LT heated door mirrors - wiring for westy california
I figured this one out for myself - the wiring for the heated mirrors in a westy runs off the same circuit as the rear heated window - so splice the two live feeds to the mirrors together and then splice them into the live of the rear heated window circuit - ie the switched live coming from the dash...

Re: Dash lights not working
Solved! Many thanks Marlinowner for your methodical approach :ok I checked the numberplate lights - not working - that fuse is number 20 - blown! Replaced and now all instrumentation is lit. I cant make head or tail of how that fuse would control the circuit for the panel illumination but it does. P...

Re: Dash lights not working
ok - some more information but not much progress. sidelights working. Voltage at 58b grey/blue connector at headlight switch is only 0.2 volts. Same at heater switch bulb. same at the fuse above the relays (although this has grey/white wires not the grey/blue stated in the manual Could it be a fault...

Dash lights not working
Hi all, I have blown the dash illumination on my 1991 Vanagon (ie the bulbs that light up the dials not the LEDs in the centre panel/clock nor the temp warning light). I was replacing the bulb behind the heater blower panel and shorted those wires on the heater control arms :x . Bentley says that th...

Re: LT heated door mirrors - wiring for westy california
thought I'd bump this one as i have made progress but now need some electrics help.
I have run wires from the heated mirrors to the cab - one live and one earth. Can i just splice the live ones into the switched live of the rear demister or would that overload it?
anyone done this?
thanks

LT heated door mirrors - wiring for westy california
Hello all I have seen a post in the distant past (thought i had book marked it but they have disappeared) which said how to wire LT door mirrors to the rear windscreen demister switch. Is it as simple as one wire to the positive out from that switch leading to both mirrors (and rear screen) and the ...
