which battery? (small fire last night....)
Hi, last night I had a fright. I forced the drivers seat back hard and the metal cover (insulated on the inside) was forced down so much that the terminals of the battery connected through the cover. Smoke, small flame, very frightened me. So, my 86 Devon needs a new bat. But which one? I'm not worr...

Battery
Hi, our van has been parked up for the last 5 months and I started it the other day no problem. Should I check battery liquid levels? Where is the battery that the engine uses? (I know where the leasure bat is, under seat) Thanks to all yet again, I love this forum and all the kind people who help m...

Re: fitting a bunk over the cab seats
Thank you Hacksawbob!! Brilliant pictures and explanation. Is the link to Argos now a different campbed or was it that one (the poles look like they are in two pieces) Also, where did you get the lugs for the bed? Cheers, Robbie.

Re: fitting a bunk over the cab seats
Thanks 1664 and all others for help. Will make it my self. 1664: Where did to get the poles from? Where did you mount the cup brackets on the doors? Did you do it on the doors so that the bunk is in a better position than putting it up on the pillars A and B? Cheers! The forum has solved so many pro...

fitting a bunk over the cab seats
hi,
I am looking to fit a bunk bed above the cab seats in my 1986 camper. Has anyone done this? Where did you get it from?

Cheers,

Re: Devon gas strut supplier
Hi, loved finding these posts as I haven't found anyone else with the aerospace roof!! Ours weighs a ton too, but I think it is seriously the best roof due to the amount of space. We have two very young children, so with roof up, one sleeps up one end of roof and the other up the other end. Our roof...

Re: 240v hook up
Thanks to all posts!!! Martin is right, I already have a leasure battery and the original Zig unit, but all on 12v. I am now getting the idea of all this but one thing remains unclear: Once you have 240 inside the van, perhaps to a RCD, what do you do to have something permanently connected to the L...

Camping sites near Dunkirk and Paris
HI, our family have booked a ferry to Dunkirk in July. Does anyone have a camping suggestion 1-2 hours from the port going towards Paris for our first night? Our 2nd and 3rd night will be Paris (outskirts) in order to visit the city - does anyone have a recommendation for this too? Thankssssssssssss...

Re: Rear Seatbelts
Hi, I am about to fit them in mine this weekend. I have asked other questions in the last week on the same subject and have had some very useful replies, have a look at my postings. The wiki is really good as are the ones on Brickwerks' site. I took the plunge and bought the belts this week as the o...

240v hook up
Hi, I have a Moonraker with original 12v set up, no 240. If I were to buy a extension lead type hook up, would I damage the leasure battery by charging it up thoughout our trip if necessary? I am trying to work out if the expense of converting the van to 240 is worth it. I dont intend to run much of...

lap belts
Going to fit 3 point belt in back (from Bwerks) but also wanted to put a lap belt in. Bwerks doesn't appear to offer one. Does anyone know of a good quality one I could get? Shame Bwerks doesnt do one..... Cheers! Robbie
