I contacted a reputable supplier who sells these parts, who you cant phone you have to email. So i em...

Re: DG identification of parts
Hi, I have looked throught so many sites looking for bearing sizes to convert early DG crank to fit the later DG case.
Does anybody know the measurements of what a standard jounal should be, or where i can find the information.
I still can't find any reference to the red dots on the crank.

Re: DG identification of parts
Thanks for the info lots to follow up on. On further investigation the crank is the same in both the early and late DG engines, it is the case that is different, the earlier engine having thicker main bearings, and the later engine having the slimmer bearings. Now the engines have been stripped, No ...

Oil pump identification
DSC03092.jpg DSC03091.jpg DSC03090.JPG Hi all, I have a 1987 Caravelle 1.9 petrol DG engine. After many running issues it came time to dismantle the engine, but i am having trouble identifying the oil pump as it has no part numbers stamped on it. I have looked on just kampers, brickwerks and vagcat...

Re: Dalek cap
Ok thanks for that. DG 1,9 petrol 1987, the reason i ask is that the van starts no problem drives ok, but when up to temperature the revs die and the engine stops. Start the engine but no power to pull away without over reving. When setting off the water in the expansion chamber is about 1/2 to 3/4 ...

Can anyone tell me how you tell if the dalek cap if faulty, and can a faulty dalek cap cause the engine to stall when the water is hot, through not releasing the pressure?
