Re: Rear Outer Wheel Bearing - Too Deep?
I managed to gently tap the outer bearing a few mm outward and happier with the fit but still a bit worried about the centre race on the roller outer bearing. Before : https://i.imgur.com/YHMf1Co.jpg After : https://i.imgur.com/mR1xiXJ.jpg From some of the examples I have seen online people manage t...

Re: Rear Outer Wheel Bearing - Too Deep?
Think I have now answered my own question. Found this on another forumn from someone with same issue. The HAynes manual says 'until seated', however there is no seat as such.
I will have to try and dissemble and hope I can reuse the bearings

Rear Outer Wheel Bearing - Too Deep?
Hi All, Recently overhauling my rear suspension whilst working on CV joints. I followed the Haynes manual for the rear wheel bearings. Gently hammered the inner bearing into the housing until it hit the ridge inside. Manual said to do same for outer roller bearing with the inner race removed which ...

Re: CV boot replacement
Looking to replace my OSR CV joint as it is leaking and making a clunking noise once per rotation under load. I am in Wales hiking currently but ordered the parts from when I am home. Just wondering if this is a hub nut off job of it there is play to drop the driveshaft from gearbox enough to get ne...

Re: Newbie question. Seam sealant?
a thin blade craft knife/scalpel/craft knife once the sealer is out and the blade is dull it can scrape deep into the seam, you will feel each spot weld so rub up and down each section between them - where the rust widens out of the seam target it with a dremmel - the wire wheels dont last long but...

Re: Newbie question. Seam sealant?
Sorry to dig this up but seems silly creating a new thread. I had my lower panels replaced, sealed and painted about 7 years back but am not getting some seem rash again. I know in the long run I need to replace panel and get to all the rust but for the cost and my use I am looking at how to get the...

Re: Autosleeper Pop-top Roof Bonding Fail. Why?
Sorry to drag this back up but it is now getting to the weather I can finally see to this. 2 questions: 1) Can you create a goot seal / bong if you remove a small section of existing sikaflex and apply new? i.e. does sikaflex adhere to an existing application? 2) I have sourced some autosleeper popt...

Re: Dash Oil Pressure Faintly Lit
Here's the schematic for the battery light. http://www.cjh.me.uk/MyPhotobucket/cache/T25/Dash%20PCB/Battery%20light%20schematic_128.jpg If the IGNITION and ALTERNATOR are at the same potential, the light should go out. Could the greater resistance in the alternator exciter wire cause enough of a po...

Dash Oil Pressure Faintly Lit
Hi guys,
I recently replaced my dash ribbon with the excellent kit that Chris sells on here.
I have noticed I have a faint glow from my oil pressure light despite having excellent pressure (gauges showing 4.5 bar running).
Any info on how I can test the wiring and sender?
Thanks

https://www.fuchs.com/fileadmin/schmierstoffe/Prospekte/Brochures_EN/Argumenter_EN/VW_Argumenter_EN.pdf Worth a flick through. We recently got a Fuchs account, then set about going through ETKA and gathering the part numbers from there and going through TecDoc matching them up and speaking with Fuc...
