rear door lock

Hello Everybody,
I've got my lovely bus back - 2.1dj auto. However the central locking has been playing up and now the rear door won't open.
Tried it with the key in the lock or using the central locking - no joy :(

Any ideas

Thanks

2.1 dj fuel pump problems

Hello Everybody, My 1987 2.1 dj stopped the other day. Called out the AA and they worked out the fuel pump had no electric so temporarily fixed a feed direct from the battery to the pump and it got me home. I need to get this fixed properly though and looking through the haynes manual it says there ...

cooling system part discontinued by VW

Hello Everybody, I hope somebody can help sourcing this part on the cooling system. Its a plastic pipe from the overflow tank to the right hand side of the engine block. Part number 025 121 160C. It has basically disintegrated. VW have it as discontinued stock. I assume all waterboxers have the same...

Hello, I bought a t25 already tinted and was advised by a friendly policeman to remove the tints on the front windows but that it was OK to leave them on the quarter lights. This turned out to be a good option - without the tints on the windows the world seemed a brighter place and I stopped thiking...

I agree is does look strange but works well - just make sure the jacking point is clean so that the bar can go all the way in.

power steering

Hello I've got a 1987 2.1 dj caravelle with power steering. One of the long pipes from the steering rack to the pump has sprung a leak. I'm surprised it has lasted this long as they are both very rusty. The local VW garage has quoted £220 to supply the 2 pipes. Any advice on a cheaper alternative wo...

auto gearboxes

Hello everybody,
I've got a 2.1 DJ auto.
This is probably a silly question but has anybody ever swapped the 3 speed automatic with the four speed automatic found in later golfs, passats etc?
Does it fit straight in?
Is it worth doing (better ratios)?
Cost?

It should not make any difference wether it is lowered or not. The rules as I understand them are that the tank must still have at least 200mm of clearance when then springs are fully compressed. The bus by the way was already lowered before the lpg had been fitted.

It was 180mm to actual tank there was no cover - the cover under the spare wheel had been removed. The bus had been already been lowered by 60mm - I would be scared going over a speed bump in it!

Thanks to everybody for their advice. I went to see it at the weekend - the lpg tank is where the spare wheel should be. The ground clearance to the tank was just 180mm!!! I checked with lpga website which says that the lpg tank must have >200mm ground clearance with the springs fully depressed. I a...

Lpg already installed - what should I check?

Hello Everybody,
When you buy a t25 with lpg already installed, what paper work do you need to make sure it is legal - also is there anything I should check regarding the lpg workings before buying.

Thanks
