Re: Hitting the Starter Motor...
I had the same issue after a new starter was fitted  In case cleaning everything doesn't work... I put one of these in - http://www.justkampers.com/shop/type_2_bay/type-2-bay-original-vehicle-parts/vehicle-electrics/relays-senders/hot-start-relay-12v-j12928-141951253b.html Because of the dist...

Re: Leaking Windows
Don't be too afraid of changing the seals! I gave it a go and now am confident I could get a window out and back in in about 40 minutes - infact I had to when I locked the keys in  Obviously if there is rust around the window that would need to be cleaned up before you change the seals. Having...

Use 2 spanners and try turning opposing directions. This will leave you with one - I used a material (not chain!) oil filter removal tool to hold the pully on the last one!
Hope this helps!

Re: plastic plugs under rear arch?????
Sounds a hoot!
...So, what's the best way of getting rid of the original foam / rubber underseal stuff? My knuckles are raw from using a screwdriver and knife!
Someone tells me to use a wire brush attachment on a drill, has anyone tried this?

plastic plugs under rear arch?????
Found some plastic plugs under the rear wheel arch, at the front of the arch!
Other than being really good rusting points, what are they for?
Do I need them or can they be filled?

Re: Paint Your Wagon - with a roller!
The roller in your video looked rounded on both ends. I find the square ends can sometimes leave a hard line even when you try your hardest not to I'm using these - not tried any others but they seem to be giving me good results. £9 off fleabay (I'm too lazy to go shopping! :run ) I think that ther...

Re: Oil Leak..advice
I have a 1.6d and found that the sump bolts were all loose! Tightened them all up and it reduced the leak! Think it is leaking from somewhere else now but I intend to change the sump gasket sometime!
Failing that check it regularly and carry a lot of oil!

Re: Paint Your Wagon - with a roller!
Just a thought about soaking the roller!
I haven't tried it but maybe wetting the roller with solvent before soaking will help it absord the paint?
Obviously too much solvent could introduce more problems, but it may be worth a play!

Re: Starting problems - air in (diesel) fuel system?
The braided tubes seem to be okay. This is the end injector - with a rubber bung on the last nipple instead of another braided tube - This is split and may be leaking. The only thing is it really looks like bubbles are coming out from the bottom of the injector. :? Maybe they all leak a little gas a...

Re: Starting problems - air in (deisel) fuel system?
Thanks for that! Replaced the fuel filter - which was due anyway - and it started without a problem this morning. I have found an injector that is leaking around the base. Can't get any tools onto it to tighten it! Is there a special tool for the job? It seems to be very tight already - if I remove ...

Starting problems - air in (deisel) fuel system?
Hi, been looking for info on this but I am struggling. I have a 1.6D and stupidly ran out of fuel - I parked it on a hill on a near empty tank! The van turns over well enough - it is just not firing - no spluttering or any sign of life for an age, then with much pumping of the accelerator it gradual...

Re: Replacing Water Pump Belt
After getting some better tools I have managed it! Jody, the bolts on mine are normal - leftie loosie! Trying to turn two bolts in oppossing directions should sort it one way or another - AND it holds the pully in place while you undo them. The last one I undid by putting a material (not chain) fuel...

Re: Replacing Water Pump Belt
Ha! Yeah, got the alternator off! Unfortunately my alternator belt is behind my water pump belt! I have hex bolts on mine! I am going to try 2 spanners on 2 of the bolts and push both directions - that way one of the little buggers should move - whichever way they turn! Will let you know which way.....
