Re: Fit SPare to the front of T25
Thanks for the advice - It's an Aircooled, so no concerns about the blocking the radiator. The collision aspect had occured to me - But I thought, "Better the spare tyre takes the impact than the front of the van". The problem with the back is that the rear door flips up and cannot hold it...

Fit SPare to the front of T25
Hi there,
Does anyone know whether it is possible/practical/safe to fit my spare wheel to the front of my T25 (in order to make space for gas cannister if it's converted to LPG).
Is there a bracket that would assist in doing this?
Any suggestions gladly received.
Thanks.

Re: Engine cuts out when foot off throttle
Hiya sorry for delay adding follow-up. The email notification only seems to work on the first response. I hadn't realised there had been so much activity here! The engine is a 2-litre air-cooled, which was a major unit replacement and has done 43k miles. When I brought the van the guy said it had a ...

Engine cuts out when foot off throttle
Hi all, I've got a problem with my '83 T25. This first presented on a long motorway trip soon after I'd brought it - After a particularly long grinding uphill stretch I hit a roundabout and took my foot off the throttle to brake and the engine cut out. Basically, it will not idle. If some pressure i...

Re: Under-powered leisure battery?
The meter shows 9.3 volts off the leisure battery in the camper, and 14.5 volts of the battery in the Subaru - Maybe these devices need 10 volts plus?

Under-powered leisure battery?
I've got a strange problem - My powersocket - or whatever you call what used to be the lighter - is wired in to the leisure battery on my van. Strangely, it will not provide enough juice to charge or run my satnav or mobile phone. When I use the same cables for both devices in my other car they work...

Thanks for that. Once she has seats again I'll give her a canter.

Strange Engine Noise
I've just started up my relative new (to me) 1983 Volkswagen Autohomes Kamper after being away, and leaving it standing, for a few weeks and there's a new noise. It's a distinct 'tick-tick-tick-tick' (like the sound of someone running a stick along railings) over the engine sound coming from the bac...

Re: Droopy wing mirror
Left hand mirror is crucial for saving the lives of cyclists. Had a few nip down that side when I've been turning left so its always angled down slightly for that reason. I think the abrasive trick is probably the solution other than fitting dirty great big truck mirrors. They're a bit like cats wh...

Re: Droopy wing mirror
:D hi, had the same with mine. Just cleaned and tightened it and all is now fine. Easy fix for once. Enjoy! :ok Jamie Ah - Woe is me. My experience today was not so easy, as the aperture where the spring tightening nut is is very awkward and I cannot seem to get the flipping thing tight enough. May...

Re: Droopy wing mirror
Thanks - Will investigate. Do you think it's the kind of screw that could be screw-fixed with some superglue or is that a bit dangerous?

Droopy wing mirror
Hi - My '83 T25's driver side wing mirror needs viagra for motorways and speed bumps. Is there any way to stop it from drooping down so that I have to keep correcting it out of the window?
Cheers!

Re: Surfboard on a hi-top
Cheers Jame - I've got gutter and have ordered the Thule set up - but without the extensions. For the time being I'm going to see if three brackets on one side (without the bars) will give me the security to lash the board to. Luckily (I suppose) I don't have a full quiver of boards so starting with...
