Genuine VW rubbers needed no sealant as the rubber was a dry seal one from new, if you can still get genuine VW rubber use them as pattern rubbers are a pain in the rear to fit and often leak, 3m makes a very good rubber to body sealant but i cost's a bit, but i never have to reseal anything after u...

sounds like you have clayton wright rubbers, you dont need a string for these type of rubbers, take the insert out run a blunt screwdriver round the rubber (glass side) to break the seal then push the glass from the inside ( you might want a friend at this point) and remove the glass, sort the body ...

i have rebuilt the carbs and have replaced all vacum hoses and servo pipes, the only thing i have not replaced is the inline fuel filter so will get that done soon as poss and see if it helps any ?

The brand of bearing is Optimal, they are made in Germany and on the whole look to be well made until you try and fit the outer race and sleeve :shock: i have been in contact with VW Heratage today and they are sending me out a set in the morning,the seals x4 and the outer race and sleeve are genuin...

i have tinted the small pastic windows on Smart cars sometimes the film does not want to stick due to the oil's in the plastic, the best thing to do is try one and see how you go, good luck.

i have a T25 with a 2000cc Aircooled twin carb engine the fuel pump has given up so does anyone know if i can get a rebuild kit for the pump and where might i get it ?
