To get studs out you put two nuts on the end of the stud and wind one onto the other, you can then put a socket on them and undo them as if it were a bolt. Ooohhhhhh if only! Speedo is 20mph fast. Shouldn't need a torx, just a 12 point socket. For example, this one for 2 quid at B&Q...

Have you considered having your engine rebuilt? With hindsight I wish I had used Andrew at campershack. Hes a member on here and 100% trustworthy. Could be as simple as the carbs needing balancing. Always the starting point for any running or performance issues.
