Re: 1.9 DG bogging down under demand peirburg2e3

I sent my pierburg to Bromsgrove to be refurbed, it was not cheap but the carb is 100 times better than before, more responsive and more fuel efficient. I would recommend them. Sadly Roger at Bromyard has been poorly so isn't taking orders for the foreseeable Sent from my moto g(30) using Tapatalk

Re: Cylinder head advice wanted

To get studs out you put two nuts on the end of the stud and wind one onto the other, you can then put a socket on them and undo them as if it were a bolt. Ooohhhhhh if only! This is the Disney version of how it should go. Reality is often a horrible nightmare version. Lots of heat, swearing, hamme...

Re: 1990 Singlecab II

Speedo is 20mph fast. I can’t get my head around whether the speedo spring is too tight or too loose; any experience of this out there? https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20221112/04c8e89067cef21f6678882f3740bacd.jpg Logic suggests tighten the spring to add resistance. Is (was) that 20mph fast at all...

Shouldn't need a torx, just a 12 point socket. For example, this one for 2 quid at B&Q...

Re: Replacement engine down south

Have you considered having your engine rebuilt? With hindsight I wish I had used Andrew at campershack. Hes a member on here and 100% trustworthy. Thanks for the endorsement Rob, but I think he's diesel. If so, AWEngineering at Darwen would be my recommendation. Sent from my moto g(30) using Tapata...

Re: Thermostat housing

The top cover with the bleed valve appears to be bolted to the housing using four bolts, three of which can be undone from the top. The fourth however appears to require undoing from under the vehicle as there’s just the thread of the bolt showing. Is this correct? No. It should be four M6 bolts pu...

Re: Oil pressure switch

Both switches shouldn't be closed with engine off, one is normally closed (blue, between pushrod tubes) and the other normally open (closes under pressure, either 0.9 or 1.8 bar, depending on stuff). Start engine, pressure opens blue switch, light goes out. Rev engine, if white/grey switch closes be...

Blimey, there's a lot more of this tone about these days - did I miss something? It used to be such a nice friendly place to hang out. [emoji3525]

Re: Fuel explosion in carb

Could be as simple as the carbs needing balancing. Always the starting point for any running or performance issues.
