Re: out of interest . DJ injection on DG...
I had a DH engine, and actually the tank did NOT have the bigger 12mm outlet, just a normal 7mm(?). I can't confirm if that was how it came from the factory, but that was how it was, and it ran fine. I even ran the replacement ej20 Subaru with that tank for quite a while and it also ran fine, now r...

That'd be great, thanks Rob. Are you ordering straight away? If not, maybe give them a couple of days to respond first?

Cheers for that Aidan. I thought I'd get myself one of them, but.... they don't post to Scottish islands [emoji849]. With Royal Mail it costs exactly the same [emoji2369] We get this a lot (sigh). I've messaged to tactfully explain and request they make an exception. Sent from my moto g(30) using Ta...

Re: Adjust crankshaft endfloat or full rebuild?
Late case can be identified by the B suffix on the part number cast into it on each side under where the pushrod tubes sit. Also has a second oil switch on front under water pump. It's important because of clearance inside for the longer stroke 2.1 crank, and main bearing availability. Sent from my ...

Re: Adjust crankshaft endfloat or full rebuild?
I’ve been in correspondence with Mark Pluygers of Dream-Drive in the Netherlands with a view to the most cost effective way to gain a little more torque and power for my 1.9DG T25. His view, which I’m going to discuss with him next week before he goes on holiday is to upgrade to a 2.1 MV or DJ whil...

https://brickwerks.co.uk/blog/vw-t3-t25-type25-vanagon-cooling-system-bleeding/ Also, the buzzer is oil pressure related and nothing to do with coolant temperature. Sounds like you may have other things going on here. https://brickwerks.co.uk/blog/vw-t3-oil-pressure-switches/ Well, yes and no - a...

Re: Cooling System Query
If this happened on the way from the garage after having the refurbished gearbox fitted, it looks like it was down to the garage not filling and bleeding the cooling system properly. There's an oil cooler on the gearbox that has coolant flowing through it. They would have had to drain the coolant to...

Re: Help- Low Compression & Oil Pressure 1.9 DG how far to rebuild?
Saw this on eBay, not sure if this is of any use at all - the right questions would have to be asked as to why it was removed etc and always a risk with second hand engines: https://ebay.us/m/HFUkIg I see he's left the torque converter on the drive plate, and pulled it off the 'box! Re: T25 1986 automatic gearbox problem
Outer thrust, yes - inner no. In reality the thrusts barely wear, just make sure the shims are good, set between 0.07-0.1mm, and fit a new seal. Check flywheel/driveplate seal running surface for a wear groove.

Re: Are DF and DG engine bottom ends the same?
Same case, crank, rods, pistons/barrels. But....different camshaft with conservative valve timing - more specifically, the DF has significantly less duration on both the inlet and exhaust. So if you put DG heads on you'll have the bigger valves, but that will give little or no benefit due to the sho...
